“Tuckered-out Guardian Angel”

Are you looking for a memorable and timeless way to honor your Mother on this Mother’s Day, May 11th?  Renowned South Dakota sculptors Sherri Treeby and Lee Leuning have created a very special sculpture that just might fill that need.

“Tuckered-out Guardian Angel” depicts a sleeping child and loving guardian angel, both tired at the end of a busy day.  The original 27”H x 32”W x 35”D bronze sculpture, located in front of Prairie Star Gallery, Sioux Falls, won the National Sculpture Award 2007 presented by American Mothers International.  “Tuckered-out Guardian Angel” also took second place People’s Choice Award for the 2007 SculptureWalk Sioux Falls.

As noted on the website, www.legacybronze.com, sculptors Sherri Treeby and Lee Leuning began collaborating on several sculpture projects while attending Northern State University in the late 80s.  Visit the website to view their many award-winning and awesome sculptures.  They work out of their studio, Bad River Artworks, located in Aberdeen, SD.

Short Grass Arts Council has collaborated with the sculptors to make this special sculpture available. This smaller casting, approximately 10”H x 13”W x 11”D, is made of cold cast resin with an elegant ivory-colored marble finish.  Consider making this Mother’s Day very special with a gift that will be cherished for years to come.  For more information please contact Barb Wood, Arts Coordinator for the Short Grass Arts Council, at 605-567-3597.  “Tuckered-out Guardian Angel” is on display at Baskets, Beads, and Baubles and at Prairie Pages Bookstore in downtown Pierre.
